What Brooklyn Actually Asks For
Brooklyn housing stock does not repeat. In East Brooklyn, the same consolidation put PPR inside high-rise towers on Rutland Road and two-story townhomes twelve blocks away. In Williamsburg, it was a dense mid-rise with a single elevator and a lobby residents cross every hour of the day.
Every one of those building types has its own staging problem — where material lands, how a crew reaches the fifth floor, whether there is a service entrance at all. What cannot change is the apartment at the end of it.
Neighborhoods PPR Has Worked
Brownsville, Ocean Hill, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights and Williamsburg — through the Reid and Park Rock consolidation, the Ocean Hill and Stuyvesant Gardens rehabilitation and Berry Street–South 9th Street in Williamsburg.
Working in an Occupied Brooklyn Building
Almost none of this work happened in empty buildings. Residents were home, elevators stayed in service, and the apartment came back livable at the end of the day. That is the version of the job PPR runs most often, and it is the reason managers here call back for the next building.
